Fugro GeoConsulting’s Soil Testing Laboratories provide a range of testing from basic classification tests all the way through to dynamic and cyclic tests both onshore and offshore.
Onshore Laboratory Facilities
The laboratories are accredited for all basic soil testing by UKAS and in-house procedures are used for the advanced tests for which there are not yet standard methods. The laboratories are run within our overall Quality System, which is certified to ISO17025.
The high capacity laboratories can provide the most advanced commercially available testing including:
- Anisotropic triaxial testing
- Automated stress-path systems
- Cyclic simple shear systems
- Cyclic triaxial systems
- Anisotropic resonant column systems
- Mid-height small strain measurements
- Mid-height pore pressure measurement
- Mid-height two plane bender elements
- Compressive shear modulus from bender elements
Advanced testing can be provided for:
- Earthquake response studies for bridges, refineries etc
- Installation and performance of wind farm foundations
- Performance of offshore gravity base structures
- Installation and behaviour of subsea pipelines
- Seabed slope stability assessments
- Suction caisson installation and performance
- The response of piled anchors to cyclic loading
Offshore Laboratory Facilities
Our advanced mobile laboratories are suitably accredited and certified for transit and use in the field, providing fully integrated local support to site investigation teams.
