Data Visualisation and Management
Fugro GeoConsulting's Data Visualisation and Management (DVM) Department works with our Clients to identify potential
areas of innovation that will provide new functionality for the Client in terms of the usability of geotechnical,
geological and geohazard data, including management, interpretation, engineering analysis and visualisation of the data.
Examples of ongoing DVM initiatives, at varying stages of development and implementation, include:
- Development of bespoke GIS software to provide a map-based user interface allowing Clients to query, search and
filter the data provided in Fugro offshore site investigation reports.
- Use of ArcGIS Spatial AnalystŪ to perform foundation calculations, risk surfacing and pipeline route optimisation,
using spatially variable soil parameters and mapped seabed conditions.
- Collaboration with a leading industry numerical analysis house to develop joint geomodelling capabilities, including
seabed visualisation and the modelling of geomorphological processes.
- Soil-structure modelling to assess the survivability of deepwater foundations subject to submarine landslide soil movements.
- The development of automated design line fitting through geotechnical in-situ test profiles.
The DVM Department within Fugro GeoConsulting Limited is always keen to talk with Clients in order to indicate the range of
services that we can already offer, and also to help Clients in the development of new technologies related to the improvement
of the handling and interpretation of their data, with the aim of obtaining the best use of and therefore return from the
investment made in gathering any data-set offshore.
