The programme manager co-ordinates resources to ensure that our projects are delivered to budget, to specification and
on time. The role involves liaison with our project managers and laboratory. Our projects have durations from 2 weeks
to 6 months, with 2 to 6 staff on each project, and each project manager controlling 4 or 5 projects. You must have
proven programme management skills and experience, with a first degree or a post-graduate qualification in project
management, and ideally have some knowledge of the process of foundation design and geotechnical laboratory testing.
(Wallingford).
Geotechnical Finite Element Analyst:
Our geotechnical finite element analysts design foundations using a range of methods, but primarily using static and
dynamic elasto-plastic two phase 3D geotechnical FEA analysis programmes. They also work on other non-FEA foundation
design projects and on the reporting of complex geotechnical soil investigations. The work is predominantly related
to offshore foundations. Requirements for the role include a Masters or PhD degree in geotechnics with finite element
analysis, knowledge of geotechnical constitutive models and experience in the analysis of geotechnical problems.
(Wallingford).
Staff Engineer - Data Visualistation and Management Department:
Our Data Visualistation and Management Department is looking for a team member to assist in developing innovative
technologies relating to interpretation, analysis and visualisation of geotechnical, geological and geohazard data,
for use by Fugro's geoconsultancy business. The role includes participation in Fugro's core business activities of
offshore geotechnical / geological field investigations and subsequent analysis and reporting. The role will require
occasional business travel and site work, both in the UK and overseas. Professional development will be supported by
a full in-house training programme. Requirements for the role include a degree in Civil Engineering, Earth Science
or related discipline. (Wallingford). .
Staff Engineer / Geologist:
As a Staff Engineer/Geologist you would go on offshore site investigations to recover samples and data, run laboratory
testing programmes in our advanced laboratory and also perform high level engineering consultancy studies for our clients.
We have a full range of in-house technical and management training. After in-house training, there would be opportunities
to be seconded to work with other Fugro companies worldwide. You should have a bachelors or masters degree in Civil
Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology, flexibility to stay away from home for limited periods of
time. (Wallingford).
Supervising Engineer / Geologist:
Our Supervising Engineers / Geologists manage projects which may be purely consultancy or offshore site investigation and
laboratory programmes. They assign and supervise staff, monitor budgets and schedules, ensure reports issued on time, and
prepare proposals for new work. You must have a bachelors, masters or PhD degree in Civil / Geotechnical Engineering, be a
chartered civil engineer, or have at least the equivalent knowledge and experience, and have a understanding of foundation
design and geotechnical laboratory testing. You should also have team leading and project management skills. (Wallingford).
Interpretation Geophysicists:
We are looking for interpretation geophysicists who are experienced in shallow section mapping and geohazards analysis at
all levels from a minimum of 2 years experience to expert consultant. (Great Yarmouth)
Geotechnics Manager:
We are keen to recruit a geotechnics manager to lead the expansion and development of our geotechnical engineering and
engineering geology consulting group in our Great Yarmouth office. (Great Yarmouth)
Summer Internships:
We offer a limited number of internships to students in the summer vacation before the final year of civil engineering,
engineering geology and geotechnics courses. The role involves assisting engineers and geologists reporting field
investigations, performing basic laboratory testing and assisting on engineering consultancy projects. Tasks include
performing soil descriptions, doing basic soils testing, processing CPT test results, report preparation, engineering
analysis and the creation of plates for reports. (Wallingford).
Engineering Assistants:
We are currently looking for engineering assistants to assist our engineers and geologists in performing offshore field
investigations, including doing soil descriptions, basic soils testing and data processing, and also helping in all aspects
of reporting, both in the field and office, including data entry, data processing and the creation of plates for reports.
No specific qualifications are required to apply, but science "A" levels and computer literacy would both be an asset.
(Wallingford)
Laboratory Technicians:
Our laboratory technicians perform basic and advanced tests on soil samples and record and process the data produced. The
junior roles would suit anyone who may have taken science "A" levels, and training would be given where appropriate. The
advanced testing roles would be more appropriate for those with a degree in one of the sciences or geology. Some roles
would also include work in offshore laboratories, so in these roles, travel would be required. Use of spreadsheets would
be required. (Wallingford)
